Project Manager - CRU-14-01

Job Summary 

1.    Handle various water and waste water engineering duties to design and facilitate projects. 

2.    Manage large projects (i.e. bidding, initialization, purchasing, planning, customer relations, close out etc.)

3.    Help with corporate directional issues (i.e. Attend corporate meetings & review company records for suggestions on operation improvements & personnel issues)

4.    Handle special projects inside company (i.e. Building expansions & operations improvement processes)

5.    Special projects with other departments

6.    Will have some overnight stays

 

Major Responsibilities/Activities

1.   Handle various engineering duties to design and facilitate projects. 

·         Design of simple mechanical & civil systems or structures.

o   Must be done with acute attention to detail to provide close tolerance, high quality end product

·         Draft drawings using industry standards to produce drawings that will result in physical production of design

o   Must have strong spacial perception

·         Calculate system head pressures

o   Must be able to learn how to calculate system and pump head pressure

·         Write specifications for systems to produce high quality efficient end product

o   Must be written with intent of producing the highest quality product that the customer can afford

·         Analyze submittals and approve usage in projects

o   Must be done with acute attention to detail to assure that materials used are of premium quality

·         Create construction drawings based on as built structures

o   Must be able to calculate distances and do various geometric and trigonometric operations

o   Must be able to use or learn to use builders level, tape measure, & micrometer

2.   Manage large projects (i.e. Purchasing, planning, customer relations)

·         Purchase materials for projects

o   Must be able to manage extensive & detailed BOM’s

o   Must be able to order parts accurately and consistently

·         Coordinate scheduling with customer and Russell

o   Must be able to maintain tentative schedules and provide multiple contingency plans incase of emergency

·         Supervise installation of materials & construction

o   Must manage crews on jobs to insure that project deliverables are being met with attention to quality

o   Supervise all field crews on job

·         Provide submittal packages to customer

o   Compilation of all cut sheets, drawings, & data sheets for project into a neat user friendly format for submittal to customer

       3.   Help with corporate directional issues (i.e. Attend corporate meetings & review company records for suggestions               on operation improvements & personnel issues)

             ·         Must have creative and analytical mind in order to provide suggestions on how to improve efficiency, safety,                     working conditions, and benefits

        4.   Handle special projects inside company (i.e. Building expansions & modifications)

·         Manage various projects and budgets

5.   Special projects with other departments

·         Assist with various other projects in other departments such as:

1.    Equipment upgrades/modifications

2.    Writing procedures & creating checklist/sheets

 

Minimum Requirements, (Include education, experience, special skills and licenses or certifications required.)

 

o   BS in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (EI Certification)

o   2yrs+ experience with AutoCAD

o   MS: Excel, Word, Access, All Windows OS

o   Basic understanding of AC & DC Circuitry or ability to learn

o   Must be able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings

o   Knowledge of municipal water systems and pumps is a plus

o   Fast pace environment

 

Essential Physical Functions

o   Must be able to drive or ride for at least 4 hrs at a time

Equipment Used

o   PC, level, tape measure, & micrometer, vibration meter, volt meter, various hand tools, various power tools, various heavy equipment
